I had a terrible experience here. The facility looks nice (but dated) and clean, they have a large rehab facility, but there was a CNA who was was so awful to me it was just traumatizing. And instead of the nursing superiors backing me up, five people piled into my room to gang up on me and all yell at me at once! I am completely physically disabled and bedbound from juvenile autoimmune arthritis. To have five people coming to yell at me at 8 in the morning because I was upset about being woken up by being grabbed by the arm without my permission while I was sleeping is frightening to say the least! There were quite a few CNAs there who were very rude to me, but this one was just beyond anything. What happened is, this woman, ironically named “Patience”, barged into my room, turned on all the lights, shouted “Good morning!”, grabbed my arm and tried to take my blood pressure before I was even fully awake. Being touched in any way without your permission is legally ASSAULT, so I was very disoriented and disturbed by being assaulted first thing in the morning and I automatically drew my arm back and shouted in distress. Instead of apologizing, Patience kept trying to grab me so I yelled at her to get out of my room. But instead of leaving she began to yell back. Then the nurse and the nursing supervisor came in and I told them what happened, as calmly as I could given the circumstances. But instead of getting Patience out of my room they also started berating me, two more CNAs came in, and then Patience started SCREAMING at me. I felt extremely threatened and attacked and without thinking I tossed my cup of cranberry juice at her. Not the cup, just the juice. But most of it landed on the supervisor. (Who by the way, was either stupid or insane or both, since she kept insisting that I was in a hospital, not a skilled nursing facility, and it was an “acute care” NOT “POST-acute”. I tried to explain her mistakes but she refused to listen to me.) They acted as though I had thrown a deadly weapon, rather than some completely harmless juice, and took away everything within reach, including my CALL BUTTON. I am completely disabled and CANNOT get out of bed without excruciating pain. Despite this they left me completely stranded after threatening to call the police on me. I told them if they did that I would be pressing charges for assault. So they all left me with no assistance in my room. After a while I had to go to the bathroom but I had no way to call for a bedpan. They wound up not calling the police. Smart move because I obviously had a better case than they did. Instead I called the police after they gave me the phone back a couple hours later. I will leave it to your imagination as to how I dealt with the bedpan situation. The next day they made me go to a hospital, for no reason. From there I went to a different SNF because I obviously would NEVER go back to Skye Canyon. Besides that, they take blood draws two times a week which is completely unnecessary and probably dangerous because that is a LOT of blood loss. I even asked the doctor why they did that and she gave a very generic answer that they are “checking for diseases.” Well, yes, that is ALWAYS what blood draws are for, but it does not answer why it needs to be done that frequently in a non-acute, long term facility. I told the doctor as much and that I would not be doing them if that was the only explanation she could give and she said OK. Also, in my last blood tests I was anemic so it’s very dangerous to be giving that much blood that frequently. It is my right to refuse any medical procedures so I refused to get the blood draws (which were done at 2am for God knows why), but the nurse gave me a VERY hard time about it even though I explained everything as above. She said I at least had to do it once a week, but that is still too much and unnecessary, so I still refused.

My brother, who is mentally challenged from birth, has been in and out of this rehab and hospitals waiting to have his prostate removed or reduced. It will be about two months when we are , hopefully , able to go back home. These folks are the best. Everyone is loving and caring. I feel very comfortable with him here. The food is good, gained lbs, and the activities are really fun, especially if you dont like TV. Don’t hesitate to send your loved one here.

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting a few members of your team, and they have been exceptional. Based on that experience, I am confident the rest of the staff reflects the same level of excellence. The facility itself also offers a consistently warm and welcoming atmosphere from the moment you enter.

The staff is very helpful and patient. They are really informative when questions are asked about treatment and any future plans. The staff made my mother-in-law feel safe and cared for. I recommend this facility.

I just had to compliment Brawnsi, who helped me find my mother a rehab facility after her hip surgery. She was kind, patient, and knowledgeable. Just the person I needed during a stressful time. Thank you! Skye Canyon has exceptional care from start to finish. The staff was attentive and dedicated. It was also great to have a private room where I was able to stay the first night with my mom to make sure she was comfortable. Thanks again for all the great work you do!

My family recently had a loved one stay at Skye Canyon Post Acute, and we’re really grateful for the care they received. The transition into a post-acute setting can be overwhelming, but the staff made the process feel much smoother than we expected. The nurses and therapists were patient, attentive, and always willing to answer our questions.

My girlfriend was at this center recently. The food was good. Drinks are provided in dining room. The staff was very pleasant and as tentative as possible. I would recommend it for my loved one as the general overall atmosphere was very caring and helpful.
